In my experience, it’s far better to travel yourself than know people who do. Go for the better money, and use your vacation to see the world.

As shaky as the airline industry is now i would be worried about getting involved in anything to do with airlines or travel. But if its what interests you then go for it.

Oh no, you got the pharmacist thing all wrong! I work at a pharmacy, and though not as a pharmacist, I can tell you that pharmacists do NOT just sit around and sell pills all day. Definitely not. You also have to be very good with people, since pharmacists also have to give lots of advice, be organized, and have very good communication skills. I also see pharmacists making relationships with lots of different types of people all the time, since everyone DOES eventually need medicine. It can be very rewarding if you really enjoy it.
Also, if you work at one of those large chain drug stores (like, say Walgreens or Shoppers Drug mart in Canada), then they also help with customer service. Also, the owner of the store I work at is also the head pharmacist, and I always see her around helping customers and stocking shelves and helping with training of new employees, and she definitely has move vacations than the typical office worker. That’s one of the other things to consider, especially if you want to travel.
On the other hand though, if you really think you will not enjoy being a pharmacist and only want to do it for the money, then it is definitely NOT worth it. It’s best to go with what YOU want the most, and if it’s going into tourism, then go for it!
Still, if I were you (though I’m not [= ), I’d go for pharmacy.
